The University of Nebraska is hosting a volleyball celebration tonight that is on pace to break 90,000 plus spectators at Memorial Stadium. Volleyball in The United States has become the number one girls high school team sport. The stigma around women's sports is rapidly changing as this past women's basketball NCAA tournament championship between Iowa and LSU generated 9.9 million viewers, which is the most ever for women's college basketball.

The Nebraska Huskers have determined to cancel classes for today as this event has generated a ton of buzz in the Big 10. The Huskers have dominated women's volleyball winning five national championships in volleyball so far. Volleyball is the next sport to gain the popularity and recognition that it deserves. The Huskers will host this event tonight at Memorial Stadium.

This record breaking event will not only be historic for the Big 10, but the entire NCAA as women's sports continues to climb.  This volleyball event in Nebraska at Memorial Stadium will show the NCAA that the audience for women's sports is there, it just has to be advertised and invested in across the United States.
